UNTIL WE SPEAK UP: UNIJOS ASUU/ MANAGEMENT MAY MAINTAIN STATUS QUO

It is no longer news that ASUU, unijos chapter embarked on an indefinite, total and comprehensive strike since 22 day of October 2015.
Ever since the strike was declared, it mesmerized me how students have folded their arms watching with total muteness how the strike continue.

What amused me the most is the fact that some "self acclaimed comrades" who are parading themselves as student leaders and activists have suddenly gone underground as they claim there is nothing Nigerian students can do to salvage this strike.
As a comrade and an aspirant of the Nigerian bar, I feel posterity would never forgive me if I keep mute in all ramifications as regards the setback this strike would cause, and have caused Nigerian students.

On several fora, I have read with keen interest where issues of ASUU STRIKE came up and students aired out their diverse opinions, with majority claiming we can't do anything to salvage the strike. Let me say here that the majority, many a times,  are a group of highly motivated snails and as such, if a million people say something unpatriotic, it is still unpatriotic, as courageous decisions are never dependent upon consensus of opinions. I still believe that majority opinion at times is not always right. I believe it is usually those people who do not have dreams or visions of their own that always want to follow the crowd.
I don't know the perspective in which you viewed this strike action from, but one thing is certain, we (Nigerian Students) are at the receiving end, and unless and until we speak up, we may continue to stay at home for only God knows how long.
I know some unpatriotic and lilly livered students may say they want to thread with caution, using Abel's (The S.U.G. President) case as a case study. I am much aware of the Abel's saga, but believe you me, every problem has a soft spot; and I believe there is a timeous solution to this protracted ASUU STRIKE. Though, I know situation like this subdue mediocre people, but great leaders rise above them.
It is obvious that we speak up and draw the attention of the appropriate authorities to this strike action and how we go about it is very important.
As a law student, advocating for the liberation of the oppressed and defenceless is part of my professional calling, and as such, I see this present strike  situation as a necessary professional challenge that i must handle intellectually. I know it's not going to be easy, and I believe for every difficult situation like this, we should not allow the situation to take the lead, we, should rather take the lead and cease every opportunity to speak up and draw the attention of the relevant agencies to our rescue.
Fellow compatriots, the difficulties and struggles of today are but the best price we must pay for the accomplishments and victory of tomorrow. I believe adversity like this is another way to measure the greatness of  our future advocates.

Lets join our fellow courageous and patriotic comrades who had called severally for a "PRESS CONFERENCE" where future advocates like you and I will draw the attention of the Federal Government to the present predicament of the defenceless students of the university of Jos who have been home for no fault of theirs. This press conference, I think is a necessary step we all most take if really we want the relevant agencies to come to our rescue. Until we are courageous to take this bold step, the Federal government whom are not aware of our present predicament may not raise up to the occasion and come to our rescue. Remember, we cannot bring about renewal or change a situation like this without taking a courageous step. The truth is, if we like things easy, we will have difficulties, but if we take intellectual and courageous initiatives, we will definitely succeed. Be a pioneer and speak out in this struggle.
