Embattled
Director of Radio Biafra and leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra,
IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu was today Wednesday discharged by a Chief Magistrate
Court in Wise 2, Abuja led by Shuaibu Usman of all counts of criminal
conspiracy and ownership of an unlawful society brought against him by
the federal government.
Delivering
the verdict after the federal government had dropped the charges
brought against Kanu, the judge ruled that, “The accused person is
hereby discharged and the case struck out.”
The
Department of State Services (DSS) had withdrawn the case from the Chief
Magistrate Court so as to pursue the case in a higher court, which has
jurisdiction to entertain charges bordering on terrorism.
Usman was scheduled to deliver judgment on the application of the DSS on December 1, but he put it off until December 16.
DAILY
POST recalls that Kanu has spent at least 90 days in the custody of the
DSS, despite an order from the magistrate court granting him bail in
October.
The DSS
got an order from the Federal High Court to keep the IPOB leader
imprisoned despite been granted bail by the lower court.

WHAT IS NEXT FOR THIS YOUNG MAN? WILL HE FORGET ABOUT HIS AGITATION OR ADOPT A DIFFERENT METHOD?
