President Goodluck Jonathan dusted the All Progressive Congress presidential candidate, Gen Muhammadu Buhari (rtd) in Nasarawa the APC controlled in the north central, amidst tight security.  Announcing the result at the state headquarters in Lafia, the Nasarawa collation officer for the presidential election, Professor Abdulmumini Hassan Rafindadi declared that President Goodluck Jonathan of the PDP polled total votes of 22,693 in Obi local government area, against his major contender Muhammadu Buhari who scored 12,543 votes.

Wife stabs husband to death over APC,PDP presidential candidates in Lagos....

A 26 year old pregnant wife simply identified as Onyiyechi has been arrested by the Lagos state police command for stabbing her husband to death following an argument over the presidential candidates in Saturday’s general election at their home in Ejigbo on Sunday March 29th.

INEC office set ablaze in Rivers..

The Independent National Electoral Commissions (INEC) in Emohua local government area has been set ablaze by unknown political thugs.
Vanguard gathered that the building located at Emohua, the council headquaters which houses the electoral body was Sunday morning engulf in fire.
The development may not be unconnected with the alleged irregularities opined by the All Progressives Congress, APC during Saturday’s election in the state.
As at press time, none of the election results has been announced.

INEC has released results of the Presidential election in 10 local governments in Ogun State. As at 2:pm on Sunday March 29th in Abeokuta, APC won seven with wide margin while PDP won the remaining three local government areas.

Female INEC official, Okadaman die in fatal road accident in Benue....


A female adhoc staff of INEC died in a fatal bike accident this morning March 28th along Obussa-Ebonyi road, in Oju local government area of Benue state, Vanguard reports. The Okada man also lost his life. The INEC staff was on her way to Oju town where she was posted for election duties..
"They were riding on top speed at about 7:45 when the front part of the motorbike suddenly pulled of leading to the fatal accident and the instant death of the INEC staff. Though the bike rider survived after sustaining serious injuries he later died before receiving medical attention.” A witness said

Two killed as Boko Haram attacks polling stations in Gombe..

At least two people were killed in a suspected Boko Haram attack on polling stations in northeast Nigeria on Saturday, residents and an election official told AFP.  The attacks happened in the villages of Birin Bolawa and Birin Fulani in the Nafada district of Gombe state, which has been repeatedly targeted by the Islamists.  An election official, who requested anonymity, said: “We could hear the gunmen shouting, ‘Didn’t we warn you about staying away from (the) election?'” -

Lagos state Governor, Babatunde Fashola says money collected by any Yoruba leader from President Jonathan during his recent campaign trip to the South West is blood money.

The 4-time World Footballer of the Year Lionel Messi is the highest-paid footballer in the world. He took home nearly $1.4million-a-week last year in wages and sponsorship deals.

The Argentina and Barcelona star earned a staggering $72million in 201. He made about $38million as his club salary and the rest were from lucrative endorsements with the likes of adidas, FIFA 15 and Turkish Airlines.
